Addison Area Water Authority suffered two catastrophic water main failures within weeks of Christmas in 2021. The two total failures were on a main water line stretching approximately four miles in length up and over a mountain and through heavily forested lands! With the help of PaWARN, the Authority was able to have over 128,000 gallons of water trucked in to our reservoir during this unprecedented event.
And Pennsylvania Rural Water Association helped us find two major water main leaks out in the middle of nowhere! The one leak was out in the back woods in a boulder field!
Without the assistance of PaWARN and PRWA, the Authority would have taken months to provide a devastated community with water again. Truly commendable!

The New Milford Municipal Authority has been a member of PaWARN since 2014 and we’ve used their services twice now. The most recent incident that required PaWARN’s assistance was the large structure fire in a neighboring municipality that caused our water system to be depleted of water.
With PaWARN’s assistance, we were able to obtain a water buffalo as well as a water tanker to supply water to our customers until service could be restored. The immediate response and assistance from PaWARN certainly helped to ease some of the residents’ aggravation.
PaWARN is definitely a great resource to have. Every system (water & wastewater) should be a member of this great resource.
